Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to help people who
were less fortunate than myself. I can remember seeing the "Feed the
Children" segments on Sunday mornings and asking my Mom when we
could go to Africa and take some food to the people who were starving.
I thought that we could feed all of the people with the food we had in
the cabinets. I came to realize that the amount of food that we had
could not even begin to touch the massive amount of people who were
without food. Now that I live in Los Angeles, everyday I see the
poverty first hand as I drive through the streets. It saddens me to see
people pushing their carts with dirty, torn clothing and swollen feet.

That is why I have decided that I am going to start my own shelters for
the homeless. I have opened a new account to begin the accumulation of
funds to open shelters across Los Angeles and eventually into other
major cities across the United States. My vision is for these shelters to
not only provide shelter and food for those being housed, but also
provide them with decent clothing as well as shuttle service to
employment agencies, job interviews, to and from work. Those who are
not employed will be required to perform duties at the shelter such as
cleaning, paperwork, kitchen duties, etc. If they are required to work
at the shelter, I believe that it will give them motivation to search for
and obtain a "real job."  After establishing themselves with their new
jobs, we will then assist them in obtaining HUD housing. If we all
work together, we can help so many people get back on their feet and
live a decent life. I think it is so crazy for someone to have a
multi-million dollar estate for one family while there are others who
have nothing to eat and nowhere to sleep at night.
So, if you have a
little (or a lot :)) extra to give and help those who are less fortunate,
then please make a donation today!
